Scottish developer Tag Games has secured private and public investment.
The Dundee-based company has has attracted undisclosed but "significant" injections from entrepreneur Bill Dobbie and the Scottish Enterprise Seed Fund.Tag is now looking to recruit six new members of staff. The company recently moved into new offices due to what it said was burgeoning demand for cross-platform casual game development, in which it specialises.
The funds will also be used for a corporate re-branding, marketing, greater licensing activity and investment in technology.
Tag MD Paul Farley said: "The investment will be used to expand our product development teams, to diversify onto new platforms including a repositioning of the company as a casual/downloadable games company rather than being mobile specific."
