Warner Bros on board for service powered by Saffron Digital.
T-Mobile UK is launching a movies-on-demand service for the HTC Desire Android handset, powered by Saffron Digital.
Movie studio Warner Bros is on board for the launch, which will take place this month.
Anyone buying a Desire from the operator in the first month will get two free films from a choice of eight, including Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince and The Hangover.
The films will be available for 48 hours to watch, on the phone or a PC. Warner Bros plans to add more movies to the service in the coming months, costing £3.49 for new flicks and £2.49 for older films.
The new mobile web service is a spin-off from the existing VOD+ service created by Saffron for T-Mobile.

"We anticipate the Desire being one of our most popular handsets of 2010, and the VOD+ service makes it even greater value for our customers," says T-Mobile's head of handset and device marketing Nicola Shenton.
"As the service is unique to T-Mobile, it will also be a key differentiator for us as we compete with other networks."
Mobile movies are gaining momentum, thanks to more powerful handsets and faster mobile networks. Netflix is working on porting its iPad streaming movies app to iPhone, for example, while Blockbuster has a number of mobile partnerships.
