Launches in Singapore with HSBC as an early partner.
Well, it's going a bit bananas in the old dongle market. In the US, Square, Intuit and now PayPal are leading the charge to get retailers to plug their dongles into an iPhone or iPad so they can take payments without needing the usual credit card reader apparatus.
In Europe iZettle is doing something similar, while Payfirma is dong the same for those in Canada.
Now, Asia Pac is getting in on the act. Although Swiff is keen to stress its business model is a little different. In essence it's trying to get card companies and banks on side by selling its card reader directly to merchants but letting partners market to end users.
The dongle accepts credit cards from MasterCard, Visa, and American Express via iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Android and tablets.
