Company accused of harvesting phone numbers incurs Apple's wrath.

Social games company Storm8 has seen its titles pulled from iPhone's App Store, following the filing of a lawsuit claiming the company harvested gamers' personal data without their knowledge.

"Storm8 games are currently unavailable on the Apple App Store, as you may know," says an official post on the company's forums.

"We are working actively with Apple to make sure that our
games are available again in the Apple App Store as soon as possible. During this process, Storm8 will fully support our games and continue to bring you new features and content to provide you with the best experience possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding."

The company made popular iPhone games including Vampires Live and iMobsters, but last week's lawsuit claimed it had been harvesting the phone numbers of players - something not permitted under App Store rules.

Some of those games are still listed in the UK App Store, but it remains to be seen when the full range will return - if indeed they will.
