Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone being promoted within apps.
Mobile firms InMobi and Cooliris have launched a '3D' ad campaign on iPad for Samsung's new Galaxy S II smartphone, working with agency Starcom.
Note, we're talking 3D as in 3D animation, not as in 'glasses-on objects looming out of the screen' 3D. The ad lets people explore the handset by tilting and touching their iPad.
Cooliris supplied the 3D technology, while the ad is being delivered across InMobi's mobile advertising network. "As mobile technology continues to facilitate richer advertising experiences, we feel it’s important to explore this exciting new avenue as a solution for our clients," says Starcom Mediavest Group's head of mobile Milton Elias.
"Cooliris’s 3D media ads take mobile/tablet ads to a new level of interactivity and consumer engagement that will play a part in defining the future of mobile advertising."
