US operator looks at opening its network to other electronics firms following Kindle success.
The Wall Street Journal (via Reuters) reports that Sprint is considering leasing excess capacity on its 3G network to more gadget makers.
Sprint is apparently in talks with the likes of Garmin, SanDisk and Eastman Kodak about providing their products with internet connectivity.
The operator already powers content downloads for Amazon's Kindle ebook reader, which has an estimated 500,000 users in the US.
