Spotify iPad app in the making

Music streaming service "isn't too far" away from Apple's tablet.

iOS users can only access Spotify on their iPhones but those of the swiping and tapping iMac variety will soon join them

Spotify's official release date remains unclear at this time, but the firm assured the app "isn't too far away" and the project has been positioned as a "priority."

The company continued to say the app is "absolutely in the pipeline", so would-be users can now rest easy

In an interview with Pocket-lint, Chris Maples, Spotify UK, MD, said: "Our goal is to have Spotify available on every device possible and we’re working on new apps all the time.

"We launched recently on Virgin Media’s TiVo platform and our fundamental philosophy is anytime, anywhere. Consumers make no differentiation between devices and we want our service to be available on any device that people want it on."
