Spotify integrates SoundHound discovery app

Enables SoundHound users in Europe to instantly access Spotify’s catalogue of over 15 million tracks.

SoundHound users on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android who also subscribe to Spotify Premium in Europe will be given the option to ‘Play Now in Spotify’ after identifying a song through SoundHound.

Those who are not existing Spotify Premium subscribers go to a page inviting them to join before listening to the song.

Songs can be IDd on SoundHound by holding the phone to the speaker, humming the tune or even just saying the lyrics.

“Spotify is a natural fit with SoundHound, the most groundbreaking mobile music search and discovery platform in the world,” said Katie McMahon, vice president at SoundHound.

“Our European users have been requesting seamless access to Spotify, and today they can enjoy SoundHound’s fast, beautiful and unlimited music search and discovery with instant access to listening to full tracks.”
