SPB TV goes multi-screen

Streaming mobile TV app now available for desktop and traditional TV.

SPB TV is a D2C ad-funded app that provides access to free-to-air digital TV channels. It claims to have 10m users.

But it's also licensed by operators including StarHub, MTS, MegaFon and BSNL. And now, MobiWorld Media, owner of the SPB TV trademark, says the improved product can help these partners deliver a TV offering quickly across all video-enabled devices, including mobiles, tablets, PCs, set-top boxes and smart TVs.

It's also unveiling a 3D style user interface for the service.

"Today multiscreen TV strategy is crucial for an operator or a content owner, willing to obtain a long-term subscribers' engagement," said Kirill Filippov, CEO of MobiWorld Media.

"We make sure that our partners have all innovative solutions needed to successfully meet the challenges of pay TV market, including multiscreen and multiplatform TV content delivery and a really impressive client interface.
