The 'world's only' mobile phone to be powered by a single AA battery.
Smartphones are gradually taking over the world as consumers make the switch from feature phones but the problem with apps, gaming, streaming, emails, messaging, calls and so on the devices provide is the toll it takes on battery power.
However, US battery specialist XPAL Power has developed the SpareOne GSM mobile phone, which has been created for use as an emergency backup when your smartphone battery flashes red and there isn't a phone box nearby.
Running on just a single AA battery, the SpareOne has talk time of ten hours and can last for 15 years when unused.
Alan Cymberknoh, SpareOne project director, XPAL Power, said: "SpareOne’s breakthrough technology provides an unprecedented lifeline during dire situations that require an emergency response.
"By operating on a single AA battery, SpareOne solves so many daily issues, serving as a simple back-up phone you can carry without worrying whether it’s charged or not."
