And they're pinging the service at up to 1,000 hits a second.
SoundHound is the other great music discovery app (along with Shazam), and has not disclosed any numbers to date.
But it made amends today with a great big slew of them, such as:
* Over 4 million music searches per day
* Up to 1,000 hits per second – 35m a day
* 50 million users worldwide on iOS and Android in two years
* A tenfold increase in usage since 2010
SoundHound has been rewarded for a commitment to innovation in its tech. The service was first to support humming to recognise tracks, and has also introduced the Hound feature, which lets users speak a track or artist name in order to identify it.
There's also been experimentation in the business model. Last year, SoundHound abandoned its paid app strategy and switched to freemium.

“This first peek at our usage metrics reveals some impressive numbers, but the story behind the numbers is just as big a deal,” said Keyvan Mohajer, CEO of SoundHound.
“Our user experience is clearly so compelling and delightful that our users just can’t get enough of it. The fact that they keep coming back in such numbers speaks volumes about the value of the new features we have added.”
Last week, SoundHound confirmed its newest version, 4.1, includes integration with Apple’s iCloud service.
