Social location gets a swag makeover.
US rapper Soulja Boy made his name on YouTube with his Crank That song (and dance), but now he's getting into mobile social location.
His label Universal Music Group is launching an iPhone app called SouljaWorld, which invites fans to "check into your favorite places and let your friends know what spots you chill at and invite them to meet up with you".
Fans earn points and 'SouljaWorld tattoos' for their activity, including tattoos called Pretty Boy Swag, Pretty Girl Swag, Stacks on Deck and Gucci Bandana.
For now, the app is only available in the US. While it's not made clear in the description, it appears to be using Foursquare's API for the check-in element - one screenshot on the App Store shows a user earning a 'First Stop of Day Bonus' point.
It's not the first social location app for UMG: its Australian arm recently launched a check-ins app for pop-punk band Short Stack.
