15 titles for launch, and 50 by the end of the year.
Sony has announced a new initiative to release bitesized games for its PSPgo handheld, with 15 due to launch on 1st October.
Called PSP Minis, the games will all be under 100MB in file size, and will cost less than standard game downloads for the device.
The initiative seems tailor-made to tempt iPhone developers to support PSPgo. Popular iPhone tower defense game Fieldrunners is one of the 15 launch titles, while other iPhone titles heading for PSP Minis include Gameloft's Hero of Sparta and Chillingo's Minigore.
Sony said at its press conference yesterday at the GamesCom show in Cologne that it expects 50 Minis games to be available by the end of this year.
That figure implies there will be more restrictions on developers than iPhone's App Store, although details on Sony's planned submissions and approvals policy are thin on the ground right now.
