Sony Ericsson will launch its hotly anticipated Xperia X1 on September 30th.
The confirmation follows speculation that the Windows smarthphone, announced in Feburary, might even miss this year. Xperia will ship initially to consumers in the UK, Germany and Sweden. The handset will be available in other markets across Europe, Asia and Latin America throughout Q4 2008.The Xperia is SE’s first Windows Mobile phone, and features a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard.
Sony Ericsson has created a mini film series to highlight the capabilities of the device. Johnny X is about a young man with amnesia desperately piecing together his identity. The nine episodes will be posted online at www.sonyericsson.com/Johnnyx every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting on Monday, September 22.
