Social traffic service Waze hits 20m users

Doubles in the space of six months.

The Waze social traffic platform runs across Android, iOS, WinPho and Symbian apps, with users sending each other real-time traffic and map updates.

It has now passed the 20 million user milestone, up from ten million in January, as 1.8 million newbies joined the platform over the past month alone.

Service users have collectively driven more than 3.2 billion miles via Waze, and the firm claims it's working on a new version of the app at the moment.

In October, the firm secured $30 million to expand from its then seven million users, and it seems the capital has done the trick.
