Lets drivers create groups to swap traffic tips.
Social navigation service Waze has launched version 2.0 of its mobile application.
The big new feature is Driving Groups, which lets friends and colleagues create groups on the service, so they can swap tips and comments while on the road.
Waze suggests that commuters are a key target audience for the new feature, alongside other groups of motorists.
"Groups can also benefit fleets of professional drivers who belong to the same company, groups of friends travelling in a caravan of separate cars to a shared destination, people seeking cheap gas in a specific metro, motorcycle clubs, those looking to carpool, or any other grouping that you guys can dream up," explains a blog post.
Waze groups can also stay in touch via Twitter and Facebook, building on existing social features in the Waze app.

Waze has also beefed up the gaming elements of its service, through which users get points for their use of the app.
This includes a Royalty system where users' icon - displayed on maps to other users - changes as they rise in rank.
Waze has also given its map a design tweak and improved its search capabilities. For more on the company's social navigation strategy, see our recent Waze interview.
