Start-up swoops for UK developer of browser-based and iPhone games.
Zattikka was formed earlier this year by game industry veteran Tim Chaney and ex Yahoo! Europe CEO Mark Opzoomer. Its aim is to aggregate and distribute games across all platforms 'via acquisition of development talent and creation of IP'.
Gimme5games has accumulated 140m gameplays of its flash releases through its portal as well as releasing smartphone adaptations of selected titles such as the Phantom Mansion series, Balloon Headed Boy, Rat Shot, Loved Up and more.
The company is headed up by mobile gaming pioneer Matt Spall, who previously ran Morpheme. He said: "We're really pleased to find such an exciting new home for Gimme5games, and with the combined industry heritage of Tim Chaney and Mark Opzoomer at the helm, we see Zattikka doing great things with this, and all its planned exploits."
