Jamster says that Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars has surpassed the Crazy Frog as its best-selling UK ringtone.
For anyone unfamiliar with Snow Patrol's dirgy repertoire, Chasing Cars has been on the UK's top 40 singles chart for an ear-watering 26 weeks.Sadly, Jamster won't tell us exactly how many times the ringtone has been bought, but if it's beaten the Frog, then it must be a lot.
The company does say, however, that the tone has outlasted Crazy by Gnarls Barkley and Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira. Other Jamster chart evergreens include I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ by the Sister Sisters and Smack That by Akon.
It also points out that many recording artists now use the mobile format to promote their new music to the influential teen audience.
