Smule surveying users on new features for Glee app

Could non-Glee songs be on the way?

iPhone developer Smule is surveying users of its Glee app for iPhone and iPad, including asking them what features it should add in the next update.

The online survey includes that question, and suggests several possible features for the connected karaoke app, which is based on the hit TV show.

Possible additions include:

  • Expand the song catalog to non-Glee songs
  • Enhance the audio quality on songs I sing
  • Lighten up the pitch correction
  • Make the pitch correction stronger and more pronounced
  • Better feedback on how I'm singing or doing
  • Let me learn who gleeks me or who leaves me comments
  • Allow me to earn more free songs by getting more gleeks

Of course, these are just suggestions in a survey, so there's no guarantee that some (or even any) of them will be implemented.

Actually, Smule is already doing the last of those suggestions: it's just unlocked the track Gives You Hell for all users who have 50 or more gleeks - fans within the app.

The company also says users have joined together to sing on more than 150,000 songs so far using the app's social features.

The standout performance for us so far is this unashamedly Scottish take on Kanye West's Gold Digger.
