Smule brings magic piano to iPad

Less T-Pain, more T-Piano...

Smule has become one of Apple's favoured developers, thanks to its innovative iPhone music apps I Am T-Pain, Ocarina and Leaf Trombone.

It's no surprise to find it launching something new for the iPad, then. In fact, Smule should be applauded for not simply porting its past hits to Apple's tablet.

Magic Piano is, as the name implies, based around touchscreen pianos. Except these ones are spiral and circular, or beams of light.

It's part trippy educational piano lessons, and part online multiplayer game where people can duet with other users around the world through virtual 'warp holes'.

The app costs $2.99, and is one of the high-profile exclusive-to-iPad entertainment apps at the device's launch.
