Smirnoff and Time Out team up for iPhone app

Guide to London nightlife with extra competitions.

Vodka brand Smirnoff has teamed up with Time Out to launch a free iPhone app that gives a guide to London culture, nightlife and eating out.

It includes location-based features to let users look for recommended venues and activities wherever they are in the capital, tying into editorial content from Time Out.

The app also includes social features to share events with friends, as well as the ability to compile a list of favourite places to monitor what's on there.

There will also be regular competitions running within the app and its spin-off website, starting with a contest to win a trip to New York in December.

"The Smirnoff & Time Out app delivers a truly rich, mobile enhanced experience, putting all of Time Out's fantastic content in the palm of your hand," says Time Out Digital MD David Pepper.

Smirnoff is just the latest alcohol brand to tap into iPhone app marketing, following the likes of Stella Artois, Guinness and Beck's.

The Smirnoff and Time Out app goes live on the App Store on 14th December.
