Mobile ad network AdMob has released its February metrics report, which shows that smartphones are accounting for a third of all its traffic.
Symbian has the largest worldwide OS ad traffic share at 43 per cent, followed by iPhone with 33 per cent and RIM with ten per cent.
The iPhone generates 50 per cent of traffic in the US. In the UK, iPhone and iPod touch account for 19.4 per cent and 14.3 per cent of ad requests, respectively.
Overall, AdMob generated 6,555,217,223 ad requests globally in February, down 3.5 per cent from 6,792,162, 447 in January.
The company says it serves ads to more than 6,000 mobile web sites and 1,000 applications around the world.
