Teams up with Cooliris' AdJitsu unit to bring tech to its 40,000 app developers and publishers.
The AdJitsu tech lets the users move an image around in 3D by pushing it with the finger. A 3D walkaround can also be obtained by tipping the screen back and forward.
Its ads have already been launched with other partners in the US and the UK on iPhone and iPad.
Smaato will now integrate the technology into its SOMA platform that aggregates more than 70 ad networks in more than 230 countries worldwide.
Ragnar Kruse, CEO of Smaato, said: “Smaato is excited about the new partnership with Cooliris. Rich Media is an important part for the substantial growth of mobile advertising and we see this as a great opportunity for our developers and publishers to maximize their revenue."
Coolitis did a similar deal with Amobee in the summer.

Tim great article, first time that I have heard of 3D adds and to know that they are already being integrated is awesome! I really feel that these 3D ads will definitely engage users more and I'm sure because of it's fun and ease to navigate through, users will more than likely spend more time looking at the advertisement. I feel that the interactive portion of the experience with the forward and backward movement of the screen will also intrigue users.
