SlingPlayer app ready for BlackBerry

Remote TV viewer will be made available for download on December 30th as part of public beta.

Sling Media says its SlingPlayer Mobile software will be released in public beta for BlackBerry devices on December 30th.

To date the app has only been available for Symbian, Windows Mobile and Palm-powered phones.

SlingPlayer Mobile streams content over the internet from an associated Sling Box, which the user must have connected to their TV's set-top box at home.

The software will only be compatible on handsets sporting v4.5 of BlackBerry's OS, including the Bold, Curve 8900, 8820, Curve 8320, Pearl Flip 8220 and Pearl 8120.
