Skyrockit has been appointed to act as the interface between the carriers and all major labels, indies, aggregators and publishers.
It will also do the heavy lifting, managing the back-end system for catalog assets and the client-side look-and-feel for subscribers’ phones.

“There is so much more to be done to engage consumers on mobile platforms through music and entertainment, and we believe our roadmap of new products and services for carriers such as Sprint will create new opportunities for brands and customers alike.”
Interesting, as it takes Skyrockit back to its roots. Before reinventing itself as the sexy app and marketing agency behind ROMPLR and the Zippo Lighter app, skyrockit was known as Moderati – the ringtone provider to Sprint and others.

In fact, today Skyrockit is the only mobile entertainment studio that licenses, aggregates and distributes music content to all four Tier 1 US mobile carriers – AT&T Mobility, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.
In a separate announcement Skyrockit confirmed that its ROMPLR music remix application will be launched on Android, initially to AT&T Mobility subscribers through the carrier’s Android store, and then in the Android Marketplace.
