VoIP and IM service now downloadable to Finnish company's Symbian smartphones
Skype has begun offering its app as a free download from the Nokia Ovi Store.
Skype for Symbian will allow Nokia smartphone users to use its VoIP services over either a Wi Fi or mobile data connection (GPRS, EDGE, 3G).
The app will be compatible with any Nokia smartphone running the latest Symbian ^1 OS.
These include (deep breath) the N97, N97 mini, X6, 5800 XpressMusic, 5530, E72, E71, E90, E63, E66, E51, N96, N95, N95 8GB, N85, N82, N81, N81 8GB, N79, N78, 6220 classic, 6210 Navigator and 5320.
Skype says it will soon introduce its app for Symbian-based devices from other manufacturers, including Sony Ericsson.
