Enables iOS users to watch vids that wouldn't otherwise work on their devices.
Mobile browser-maker Skyfire has launched a spin-off app for iPhone and iPad called Skyfire VideoQ, which focuses specifically on videos.
That's Flash videos, of course. The company is using its existing technology to help people watch Flash videos from the web, which are famously unplayable in the iOS Safari browser.
Users of the VideoQ app can register their email address, then send links to videos from any iOS browser to the video@skyfire.com address, which automatically adds the video to their queue within the VideoQ app.
Alternatively, they can simply use the app to browse the most popular videos that are being watched by other users, sorted into channels including news, technology, sports, humour, anime and kids.
Skyfire is pitching the app as a useful way to watch online episodes from TV shows including South Park and The Daily Show, although it warns that not all sites are supported, encouraging users to email in their requests.
