Removed from Apple's store five hours after it launched.
Mobile browser firm Skyfire removed its iPhone app from the App Store last night, five hours after launching it. Why? It "sold out of inventory".
Wait, what? Skyfire says that interest in its Flash Video-capable browser was so high, that it can't cope with the resulting load on its servers. Hence the removal.
"Skyfire has historically generated high demand for its browser products but nothing like this," says CEO Jeffrey Glueck.
"It was hard to predict consumer demand since this was our first paid app, but we were blown away by the demand and sales."
The company claims it will put the app back on Apple's store soon, once it has increased its capacity.

The app was selling for $2.99, but Skyfire has not said how many people bought it in those initial five hours, other than to point out that it out-grossed Angry Birds during that time.
The removal had sparked suggestions that Apple had got cold feet about its approval of Skyfire's app - something the company is keen to make clear is not true.
