Pay TV giant will test the waters with a German launch later this month
News Corp-owned pay TV provider Sky Deutschland is to offer its video services via an iPad app when Apple's device launches in Germany at the end of the month.
According to Broadbandtvnews the app will initially offer sports content, with Sky chief exec Brian Sullivan suggesting all of the company's linear and on-demand content will be made available in the future.
Sky Deutschland is also working on a mobile TV service and various iPhone apps.
In the UK Sky already offers a selection of iPhone apps, including a full mobile TV service, Sky News, Sky Sports Football Score Centre and Sky+ PVR recorder tool.
