Includes built-in barcode reader feature.
US firm Sidebar has launched its content recommendations app for BlackBerry - the second smartphone to get the service following its debut on Android last year.
The app delivers personal recommendations every day, including apps, music downloads, podcasts, RSS feeds, videos, wallpapers and ringtones.
The idea is it learns a user's tastes over time, to make its recommendations more relevant.
The BlackBerry version also has a built-in QR code reader, which lets people scan 2D barcodes and mobile QR codes to get price comparisons and product information.
Targeting BlackBerry is a smart move on Sidebar's part. There are an increasing number of recommendation apps on iPhone, although they tend to focus purely on apps rather than wider content.

BlackBerry is virgin territory for this kind of service though: Sidebar could capitalise on the lack of competition.
