Shock news! Pensioners aren't using Foursquare...

Who knew social location was something for youngsters? Oh.

New research from Forrester tells you something you may have guessed already: 0% of social location app users are 65 and older.

In fact, only 5% are aged 54-64, and 9% aged 44-53. The lion's share of checking in is being done by 18-29 year-olds (44%) and 30-43 year=olds (42%).

Just to be clear: 44% of 18-29 year-olds aren't using social location - 44% of social location users are aged 18-29.

Meanwhile, Forrester says the average age of social location users is 32, and only 22% of them are female. But they have a higher than average annual household income, and are more likely to have a college degree or higher.

Forrester says the stats shouldn't put all brands off running social location campaigns, though.
