Service will enable users to tag music, buy it from the Amazon MP3 store and check MySpace artist sites.

Shazam is looking to build on its iPhone success with a new version of its music discovery app for devices powered by Google's Android OS.

Users can choose to purchase a digital track from the Amazon MP3 store as soon as they've identified it using the Shazam database.

They can also ‘tag’ it to get more information about the artist, automatically connect to their MySpace page and ‘friend’ them.

The free Shazam app has already been downloaded 1.5 million times by iPhone users. In the long-term the company wants to monetize the service with advertising.

Shazam is also inking deals to plug itself into operator music stores.
