The Holly and the Ivy, when they are both on phone.
The ecard specialist Sharpcards reported sales up 33 per cent during the festive period so far. It's proclaiming the environmental benefit of this given that one billion printed card go into the bin after Christmas.
Interestingly, UK Sharpcards users send the most mobile ecards on Christmas Eve, where as US users prefer to send ecards on Christmas Day itself.
In 2008, more mobile ecards were sent on Christmas Day than on New Year’s Eve in both the UK and US.
Sharpcards CEO, Will Walsh said: “Today, you’re more than likely to have someone’s mobile number rather than their address, after all we’re in the habit now of collecting contact numbers to store in our mobile address books, rather than addresses.
"So it makes sense that people are sending more and more mobile ecards cards.” Sharpcards currently runs enhanced messaging services for O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, AT&T, Verizon, H3G, Sprint, Bell, Telstra and others around the world.
