Net income for FY2009 falls 50 per cent to $1.59 billion year on year.
Charges paid in association with fines by the Korea Fair Trade Commission and charges related to a settlement with Broadcom were blamed for the fall.
Qualcomm also said Q4 revenues hit $2.69 billion, falling 19 per cent against Q4 2008 and that, for the fiscal year 2009, revenues totaled $10.42 billion, falling seven per cent.
In Q4, net income totaled $803 million, falling nine per cent compared to the previous year but up nine per cent on Q3. For the full year, Qualcomm recorded net income of $1.59 billion, falling 50 percent year-over-year.
Qualcomm said its QSI (Qualcomm Strategic Initiatives) segment, which includes FLO TV, contributed a five cent diluted loss per share based on $93 million in operating expenses.
FLOT TV remains an underperformer, but Qualcomm has high hopes of its new life as a consumer-facing brand, and of the soon-to-be-launched TV-only device made by HTC.
