Seatwave SDK turns any app into a ticket office

Developers can earn up to 35 per cent of each ticket sale.

Seatwave's move makes it the first fan-to-fan marketplace to provide developers with such an opportunity.

Its iOS-optimised SDK, which is currently patent-pending, allows developers to add ticket-buying features to their apps. Adding the function will allow developers to generate up to 35 per cent in net revenue of each ticket sold.

The thinking is that, as ticket buyers stay within the app rather than being re-directed to a web site, developers could receive higher conversion rates.

The service will launch worldwide with a number of streaming and music discovery apps including What's On Air, Maxima, Music DNA ID.

Joe Cohen, Seatwave CEO, said: "The way we buy and sell on the web and mobile web is changing. Not too long ago, consumers had default sites that they visited for selling and making purchases, but today, the evolution in mobile and social technology has altered both the possibilities for and our expectations of accessibility.

"The result of this is not only a better service for consumers, who will be able to find their favourite content and services in many more places, but also new opportunities for developers to share technologies, as we are with our launch partners, for mutual benefit.”

The iOS SDK supports English French, Spanish, Italian, German and Dutch languages and payments are accepted in sterling, euros, US dollars and Canadian dollars.
