Ex Hands-On and Connect2Media man hooks up with iPhone social games platform.
Former Hands-On Mobile and Connect2Media exec Volker Hirsch has joined iPhone social gaming firm Scoreloop as a strategic advisor.
The appointment, which was announced today, sits alongside his other current roles as director of relaunched mobile games studio Blue Beck, as well as his independent consultancy work.
He is also one of the more prominent mobile entertainment industry bloggers, with his own regularly updated Volker on Mobile blog.
Hirsch's new role at Scoreloop will bolster the company in its efforts to keep pace in the increasingly competitive iPhone social gaming market, with high-profile US competitors like OpenFeint and Plus+.
"Scoreloop's two core propositions - challenges and virtual currency - are both very important when it comes to games and the business models around games in the near future," Hirsch tells ME. "It's where they beat everybody else hands-down."
