Korean vendor will roll out its latest app development initiative in December
Bada, which means ‘ocean’ in Korean, is being supported online at www.bada.com and Samsung will host an official launch event in London in December at which it will unveil its bada SDK.
In simple terms, Samsung describes bada as an open platform that enables a richer user experience in applications on its mobile devices.
It includes what the company calls a next generation UI framework with feature sets and design elements that facilitate user interfaces for every bada app.
There's also integrated support for service-oriented features to enable the development of connected apps. Extensible core functions include a dialer, messaging and address book.
Bada is Samsung's latest mobile app initiative, following its Developer Challenge, $250k games fund and its own app storefront.
