Samsung is reported to be working on the new super charged smartphone, which easily trumps the current champ – Galaxy S II with its 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
It should be faster and smoother, while hammering the life out of its battery. It should also close the gap even more between phones and PCs.
Daum says the new processor will be based on Samsung's Exynos platform, which was unveiled in Feb as a potential challenger for Qualcomm's high flying SnapDragon family.
"We are planning to release a 2Ghz dual core CPU-equipped smartphone by next year," said a spokseperson. "This product will have the data processing capacities of a regular PC."
