Samsung and ESPN devise 12-part digital sports series

'Project Teamwork' born from product placement and ad purchasing negotiations.

US sporting network ESPN and Samsung Mobile in collaboration its media agency Starcom have developed the 12-part mobile series to demonstrate the way the Korean firm's technology improves sports.

The partnership will see product placement for Samsung products and in return the company will buy a range of advertising space from ESPN media globally.

Samsung's product placement element will feature on its Galaxy SII and Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices to offer show integration. Series participants will use Samsung products to connect with family and friends by sharing videos, photos and other behind-the-scenes experiences.

The global series called Project Teamwork has been co-developed by ESPN’s International Content Development group.

Project Teamwork crosses four continents and profiles five teams trying to make it big in various sports including:

* Volleyball
* Track
* Free-running
* Football
* Handball

YH Lee, EVP of global marketing at Samsung Mobile, said: "Technology is constantly changing the way people play and experience sports, and all teams regardless of skill level are looking for new ways to improve.

"In teaming with ESPN for this inspiring series, we had the ability to show how athletes are using Samsung’s smart mobile devices in an effort to achieve their ultimate goals."

Episodes will run on Samsung Mobile’s Facebook and YouTube channels as well as the ESPN website.
