Watch 2.5 minutes of ads a day to get 517MB of data a month.

Yes, it's Blyk for mobile broadband, and Samba already has the support of a significant number of high profile brands including Agent Provocateur, Volvo, Clinique, Nissan, Paramount Pictures, Xbox Kinect, Pot Noodle and Dell.

Customers choose which ads they want to watch and when they want to watch them, while the battery icon shows how much credit is left.

Additional Samba credit can be earned when customers click through to a partner retailer and purchase items

Samba reckons there's an exploitable market opportunity here, with seven million adults in the UK already using mobile broadband, and room for lots more growth. It claims its service will save customers an average of £10 per month.

Ben Atherton, CEO and founder of Samba, said: “Samba is the perfect solution for people who need internet data on the go and don’t want to be locked into contracts with monthly charges and additional costs for excess data usage.

"It also marks an end to that hunt for a coffee shop, pub, hotel or library to get online - with Samba you can be online anytime, anywhere."

The service works across the 3 network. The Samba standard SIM costs £5, while the dongle and SIM costs £25.
