Saffron wins Sky deal

UK pay TV giant using Saffron technology to power 24-7Football video highlights service.

Sky has chosen Saffron Digital's proprietary mobile video platform to deliver its 24-7Football service to the like of T-Mobile, Vodafone and O2 in the UK.

24-7Football provides in-game goal clips and match highlights for all FA Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches.

Saffron also counts 20th Century Fox, Disney, IPC Media, Motorola, O2, Orange, Paramount, Sony Pictures, T Mobile, The Sun and Vodafone among its clients.

Shashi Fernando, CEO of Saffron Digital, said: “It’s great to have our technology endorsed by a major player such as Sky. We’re confident we can provide Sky with the technology to deliver a must-have service to football fans across the country.”

David Gibbs, General Manager of Mobile at Sky, added: “As more customers are using their mobile to access sports video than ever before, it’s important that we provide our customers with the best experience possible. Saffron’s technology enables us to do that”.
