ME understands ROK is in talks to acquire US operator XERO Mobile.
XERO targets the 17.3 million-strong college market in the US with free mobile airtime in exchange for customers watching permission-based TV-style ads.It's model is similar UK MVNO Blyk, which launched this week.
The Los Angeles-based company is publicly traded on the Over-The-Counter Pink Sheets under the symbol 'XRMB'.
UK-based ROK Entertainment is best known for its 2.5G mobile TV services.
