It's a 'world phone', not the latest facet of the company's U2 concert sponsorship.
RIM will launch its latest handset, the BlackBerry Tour 9630, in the US with Verizon and Sprint.
The CDMA-only device, which is being pitched as a halfway house between RIM's corporate handsets like the Bold and the more consumer-friendly Curve, will launch later this summer for $199.99 on a two-year contract.
The 'world phone' tag coined by RIM to describe the Tour refers to its ability to access voice and data service with ease outside of the user's home country.
