Touch-only handset to be released in October, otherwise known as iPhone season.
BlackBerry 10 will possibly be the make or break scenario that RIM has been hurtling towards, following a horrible year riddled with weak sales, signal problems and lawsuits.
Now, N4BB reports the first BlackBerry 10 device will be touchscreen-only and revealed in August, ahead of an October release.
However, RIM will return to what it knows best in Q1 2013, launching a BB10-powered QWERTY model. Presumably, to retain BlackBerry devotees that appreciate the company's physical keypad, a feature that's regarded as a major strength.
It's important to note the aforementioned October release, because it was on October 4th 2011 that Apple revealed its iPhone 4S and it's thought that the 'iPhone 5' will also be released around a similar time this year.
Additionally, a Q4 release usually means a surge in sales in the run up to Christmas.
