RIM starts selling Zeemote JS1 in North America

BlackBerry owners can buy the mobile gaming controller for $39.99.

Research In Motion has begun selling the Zeemote JS1 mobile games controller in North America, with a price tag of $39.99 in the US.

As far as we know, it's the first time the innovative Bluetooth joystick has been available in the company's native market, the US.

The Zeemote is billed as being compatible with 16 different BlackBerry handsets, and can also control their menus, media players, web browsers and mapping apps, as well as games - using Zeemote's Zeekey application.

Up until now, Zeemote has focused on European partnerships with Sony Ericsson and Nokia, while also going on sale direct to consumers through Amazon.

However, partnering with RIM not only gives it an in to North America, it provides it with a popular store to sell the controller alongside other BlackBerry accessories.
