Claims BB apps generate 40 per cent more revenue than Android.
A number of stats have been released from RIM today as new CEO Thorsten Heins opened today's DevCon Europe 2012 in Amsterdam.
The firm claims BlackBerry users download more paid apps on average than Android users, while there are six million daily downloads per day from BlackBerry App World, making two billion downloads in total.
Additionally, RIM produced results to say that BlackBerry apps produce 40 per cent more revenue than Android, while 13 per cent of BlackBerry developers have made over $100,000 from App World.
More than 2,000 attendees from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa are expect to visit the two day conference, with over 400 students arriving from Poland and the UK.
Interestingly, guests will reportedly receive a free PlayBook to help with app development, which comes on the back of our report that users of the BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps are eligible to nab one of the ailing BlackBerry tablets.

The conference also discusses HTML5 technology, which has been used to create a quarter of all App World apps, according to the report. BlackBerry 10 will also be a hot topic, following a series of false starts from RIM.
Alec Saunders, VP, developer relations & ecosystem, RIM, said: "DevCon Europe 2012 provides delegates with the opportunity to explore the full potential of the BlackBerry platform and to engage directly with our developer relations team.
"With cutting-edge developer tools, streamlined processes and a high level of dedicated support, we’re making it easier than ever for developers to enjoy a strong experience developing for the BlackBerry platform and to effectively monetise their offerings."
