RIM launches Test Center for beta BlackBerry apps

New section of BlackBerry App World to try out bleeding-edge applications.

Research In Motion has launched a new category on its BlackBerry App World store, called Test Center (App World link).

It's specifically for BlackBerry apps that are in beta, allowing users to try in-development apps and provide feedback to RIM and the developers.

Currently, three apps are available in the Test Center category: eBay's new auction app, version 2.0 of the MySpace social networking app, and a time management app called Role Call Reminder Lists.

It's a good idea, allowing apps that are works-in-progress to be offered to BlackBerry users while making it clear that they're not finished products.

However, RIM should hang its head in localisation shame at the fact that the category is still called Test Center in the UK App World store on ME's Bold 9700 handset.
