Latest attempt to get BlackBerry users downloading.
RIM says this update of the BlackBerry app store offers a more user friendly interview to simplify downloads and discovery.
The features include:
* Re-designed home screen displaying new content.
* New channels - apps, games and themes now have individual channels.
* Introduction of 'My Account' - direct access to all account information from the home screen.
* User alerts for updates and subscription renewals.
* App social sharing – share app details directly through BBM, Facebook, Twitter, email and SMS.
* Enhanced app details screen - summary of reviews, ratings and more.
* More search options - home screen provides search bar and results found across channels and My World.
Users of the BlackBerrys running BlackBerry OS 5.0+ will receive upgrade notifications throughout the week.
RIM will be hoping the update adds new vigour to its app strategy, which is nowhere near as developed as those of iOS and Android.
