French singing mole cements status as the new Crazy Frog.
Remember the days when an annoying animated character that started life as a ringtone could storm the pop charts? Actually, it's today.
René La Taupe is a singing mole created by Fox Mobile Group, making him the spiritual successor to Crazy Frog.
René currently has two singles in French Top Three - Mignon Mignon and Tu Parles Trop - backed up by a full album, and an upcoming Christmas single.
Naturally, there's an iPhone app on the way too, called Shoot René - an idea we sense may prove popular for French music lovers.
Still, Fox Mobile Group is chuffed with its success, which includes more than 14 million views for the Mignon Mignon video on YouTube.
