Remixing the Jackson 5? There's an iPhone app for that...

Hopefully it's as easy as...

ZOOZ Mobile has launched an iPhone app that lets fans remix five songs by the Jackson 5.

ZOOZbeat Jackson 5 Remix has gone live today with a $4.99 price point on the App Store. It features Dancing Machine, ABC, I Want You Back, Mama's Pearl and The Love You Save.

Users get to monkey about with the songs' beats and samples to create new versions. It's the result of a big-bucks (presumably) licensing deal with label Universal Music Group and publisher EMI Publishing.

The remixes can be shared with the ZOOZbeat community, or with friends via Twitter and Facebook.

There's also a tie-in contest for people who upload their remixes using the app, with more than $6,000 of prizes up for grabs.

This isn't the first 'remix a star' iPhone app, but it's probably the most high-profile yet.

"The Jackson 5’s phenomenal catalog of songs remains as relevant today as it ever was, and we’re delighted that fans will now have this exciting opportunity to enjoy their music and interact with it in a wholly new way," says EMI Music Publishing VP of music resources Eric Shaw.
